Detection of catechins in tea beverages using a novel electrochemical sensor based on cyclodextrin nanosponges composite

Catechin (Cat) is one of the primary functional components tea, and its accurate detection significant for understanding health benefits tea. In this study, cyclodextrin nanosponges (CDNS) were prepared employed to combine with graphene quantum dots (GQDs) carboxylated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs-COOH) form a CDNS/GQDs/MWCNTs-COOH composite. Scanning electron microscope X-ray diffraction used characterize composite which was build new electrochemical Cat sensor. The abundance cavities, intermolecular gaps, surface active groups CD molecules endowed CDNS remarkable enrichment capacity. Due outstanding biocompatibility GQDs, good electrocatalytic activity MWCNTs-COOH, capacity CDNS, modified glass electrode (GCE) exhibited excellent sensing performance. CDNS/GQDs/MWCNTs-COOH/GCE showed sensitive peak current response catechins in linear range between 2 × 10−8 1.2 10−6 M, minimum limit (S/N = 3) 4.45 nM. sensor has also been successfully applied catechin tea beverages.
